Green foods are divided into two groups. The first group is the green leafy vegetables. Romaine lettuce, swiss chard, kale, collard greens and spinach. These foods provide calcium and are known cancer fighters. Actually anything that is green will be a cancer fighter because of the phytochemicals that are inside. The other side of the green foods are called cruciferous vegetables. They are called cruciferous because they fall in the family of the mustard greens. Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and turnip greens are just a few of many cruciferous green veggies. Green vegetables are loaded with antioxidants and protein for those who worry about lacking protein due to heavy vegetable consumption. Green vegetables help to fight free radicals. Free radicals want to damage your cells and make your body age quickly. A body that ages quickly is subject to a quick death. If you want to look younger then you must avoid free radicals in items like fried foods, cigarettes, alcohol and refined foods.
Second on the list in the line of good habits is consuming a fruit or a seed that contains fiber each day. The most popular fruit that contain fiber are apples. Apples contain special nutrients that attach themselves to inflammatory fats inside the body and these nutrients expel the fatty cells. For years apples have been used by women in foreign cultures as a form of controling or maintaining weight. These women ate apples before their meals because apples contain a fiber that gives you a feeling of being full. If you have a feeling of fullness you are less likely to eat a large amount food than you would had you not consumed anything. Apples also solve the sweet tooth that many people have. Pears, peaches and apricots are also great vessels that contain fiber. The heavy fier content will solve any constipation issues that you may have. Lack of fiber will lead you to diabetes, hemorrhoids, varicose veins and constipation.
The last of the good habits that you must practice each day is take your vitamins just before you sleep at night. I realize this is contrary to most health advice. However, sleep is when the body regenerates itself. Your hair, skin and nails grow when you are sleeping. If these visible regenerative cells grow during this time then everything else is being repaired as well. If you have injuries or sicknesses you will surely want to incorporate this practice into you daily good habits. Be sure to drink two glasses of water at room temperature with your vitamins.
